| Additional information |
Oman's wildlife coinage program has been running long enough to establish genuine collector continuity, and the Sooty Falcon — a migratory raptor that breeds almost exclusively in the Gulf region and winters in Madagascar — is one of the more ornithologically precise subjects the series has tackled. The species' entire global breeding population is concentrated in a narrow coastal and island corridor that includes Omani territory, which gives the Central Bank an unusually legitimate claim on the subject.
