Obverse description The obverse presents a bold, multi-line Persian inscription in the nastaliq script, occupying nearly the entire field of the irregularly shaped flan. The legend reads 'السلطان فتحعلی شاه قاجار' (Al-Sultan Fath Ali Shah Qajar), with the regnal year ۱۲۱۶ (AH 1216) incorporated within the inscription. The lettering is struck in high relief, characteristic of hammered Qajar coinage, with the calligraphic strokes rendered in an expansive, overlapping style that fills the available surface. A horizontal dividing line separates the upper and lower registers of the inscription. The flan shows typical irregular edges and uneven surfaces consistent with hand-struck Persian silver coinage of the early Qajar period.
