| Obverse description | The obverse displays a multi-line Arabic-script legend arranged across the full field in bold, flowing Nastaliq calligraphy, divided horizontally by a raised line. The upper portion carries three lines of text while the lower register presents a single prominent line, the whole surrounded by a repeating pellet-and-rosette border characteristic of Qajar-era hammered coinage. The inscription reads: 'شد آفتاب و ماه زر و سیم در جهان از سکه امام بحق صاحب الزمان' — a pious invocation acknowledging the Hidden Imam, the Lord of the Age, as the true authority behind the coinage. The legends are rendered in a vigorous, slightly irregular hand consistent with the artisanal hammered production of the Khoy Khanate mint. Decorative pellet clusters fill the spaces between the calligraphic strokes and the border. |
