| Reverse description | The reverse features a central cartouche in the form of a multi-lobed ogival frame, within which the mint name and AH date are inscribed in two lines of Arabic script above the numerical date 1255. A stylised floral ornament surmounts the cartouche at the top. The surrounding field is plain, and the rim is decorated with a continuous border of evenly spaced pellets or granules, typical of Tunisian billon coinage of the period. |
