Aversbeschreibung The national emblem of the Sultanate of Oman occupies the central field, depicting a khanjar dagger in its sheath superimposed upon two crossed swords. The emblem is rendered in fine relief against a polished field. A circular legend surrounds the device, carrying the issuing authority and denomination inscriptions in both Arabic and Latin scripts.

The Arabic legend 'مجلس عُمان' (Oman Council) is inscribed prominently above the architectural scene, with the Arabic commemorative legend arcing along the upper border. Zusätzliche Informationen

Oman's National Day commemoratives have been issued with considerable regularity since the 1970s, tied directly to the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who took power in a 1970 palace coup that deposed his own father. The 44th anniversary places this coin squarely in the later Qaboos era, by which point the oil-funded modernization program he launched had largely run its course and Oman was beginning to grapple with long-term revenue diversification under Vision 2020.

The KM#175 attribution places it within a dense sequence of similar commemorative rials, most sharing the same silver specification derived from the standard crown-sized planchet used across Commonwealth and Gulf issues of the period.
