| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a full-colour applied image of a Laughing Dove (Spilopelia senegalensis) perched upon a rocky outcrop, rendered in naturalistic polychrome tones of russet, mauve, and blue-grey against the mirror-like silver field. The Arabic name 'قمرية النخيل' arcs along the upper border in incuse lettering. Below the central vignette, the date 'م2009' appears to the right of the species name 'Laughing Dove' in Latin script, both positioned along the lower inner rim. The coloured bird motif is the principal design element, consistent with the commemorative wildlife series issued for Oman's National Day celebrations. |

| Additional information |
Oman's National Day commemoratives have been issued with considerable regularity since the 1970s, tied directly to the anniversary of Sultan Qaboos bin Said's accession following the 1970 palace coup that deposed his father, Said bin Taimur. The 39th National Day series continued the Central Bank's practice of pairing wildlife subjects with the annual issue — a program that drew on Oman's notable biodiversity, including species found across the Arabian Peninsula's varied terrain.
The Laughing Dove (*Spilopelia senegalensis*) is a year-round resident across Oman, common from coastal gardens to inland wadis.
