Beschrijving keerzijde Central field features a full-color applied image of a Chukar Partridge (Alectoris chukar) depicted in right-facing profile, standing alert on rocky ground, with its characteristic black-bordered white throat, barred flanks, and red bill and legs rendered in naturalistic polychrome. The Arabic legend «الحجل الرمادي الرأس» arcs across the upper field. The date «2009» appears in the lower central field flanking the bird, with the Latin legend «Chukar Partridge» inscribed along the lower arc in serif lettering. The surrounding field is left as a plain mirror-like silver surface, enhancing the vivid color appliqué centerpiece.

Aanvullende informatie

Oman's National Day commemorative program has run almost continuously since the early 1970s, tied directly to the anniversary of Sultan Qaboos bin Said's accession following the 1970 palace coup that deposed his father. The 39th National Day issues of 2009 each highlighted native fauna, and the Chukar Partridge — Alectoris chukar — is a genuine resident of Oman's rocky highlands, not a decorative choice lifted from regional iconography.

Struck in .999 fine silver, the series was distributed primarily through the Central Bank and specialist dealers rather than circulation channels.
