| 正面描述 | Armored bust of Prince August Louis of Anhalt-Köthen facing right, depicted with a full-bottomed curled wig and wearing plate armor with a decorative sash across the chest bearing a star or order badge. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the drapery and cuirass. A Latin legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, identifying the ruler by name and title. This type is also known as the Senioratstaler, struck to commemorate August Louis's role as Senior of the House of Anhalt. |

August Louis ruled Anhalt-Köthen for just three years, from 1728 until his death in 1755 — though the principality itself was effectively absorbed into Anhalt-Dessau shortly after. The Speziesthaler denomination, valued at 1⅓ Reichsthaler, was a convention of the Upper Saxon Circle monetary system, aligning local coinage with the Leipzig foot standard established in 1690 rather than the later Prussian Graumannscher Fuß. Köthen's output was never prolific; the court had more prestige than economic weight, and surviving pieces from this reign are correspondingly scarce in the secondary market.
