Obverse description Crowned armored bust of Emperor Ferdinand I facing right, depicted in three-quarter length, wearing ornate plate armor with a ruff collar and chainmail details. The emperor holds a scepter in his right hand and an orb topped with a cross in his left, symbolizing imperial authority. A closed crown with floral finials surmounts his head. The effigy is rendered in a robust late-Renaissance style characteristic of mid-16th century Habsburg coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads FERDINAND D G ROM HVN BOE DAL CR REX, separated by rosette stops, running along the inner border of a beaded rim.
