Carolus Magnus) in imperial armor and crowned, holding an upright sword in his right hand and an orb in his left, above a cartouche bearing the date. The circular Latin legend FUNDATOR. * S. CAROLUS MAGNUS surrounds the central effigy, with ANNO * 1761 * inscribed in the lower cartouche. The wide outer border mirrors the obverse with a continuous array of heraldic shields and coats of arms of the chapter canons, each identified by scrolled name banners in relief.
