| Описание аверса | Type I Costa Rican countermark consisting of a radiant six-pointed star punched within a plain incuse circle of approximately 7 mm diameter, applied to the obverse of a Spanish colonial host coin. The host coin depicts the right-facing laureate and draped bust of King Charles III, struck at the Lima Mint in 1779. The countermark is positioned within the field, partially overlapping the bust and surrounding legend. The overall strike is characteristic of the macuquina-style colonial coinage, with the addition of the circular punch piercing through the flan. |

| Описание реверса | Reverse of the Spanish colonial host coin, displaying the crowned royal arms of Castile and León at center, flanked by the Pillars of Hercules with abbreviated legends to either side. The crowned shield bears the quartered castles and lions of the Spanish monarchy. A circular hole has been cut through the lower portion of the flan, consistent with the Costa Rican emergency coinage preparation process. The legends, though partially worn and interrupted by the piercing, retain legible fragments identifying the mint, denomination, and assayer initials. |
