| Reverse description | The denomination 'UN REAL' is inscribed in two lines across the central field, with 'UN' above 'REAL' in bold raised letters. A circular legend reading 'CARACAS AÑO 2 DE LA REPCA.' runs around the periphery, denoting Caracas as the issuing authority and recording the second year of the Republic. Some specimens display a dot in the centre of the field between the two lines of the denomination, constituting a recognised die variety. The reverse is enclosed by a beaded border consistent with the obverse, and the overall execution reflects the rudimentary hand-struck technique employed during this period of revolutionary coinage. |

| Additional information |
Caracas issued this coin in the chaotic interlude of the First Venezuelan Republic, which lasted only from 1811 until mid-1812 — when Miranda surrendered to Monteverde and the republic collapsed entirely. The earthquake of March 26, 1812, which killed thousands and destroyed much of Caracas, is often cited as the material blow that broke the patriot cause that year; coinage from this window is consequently scarce simply because the issuing authority ceased to exist within months of production.
