| Reverse description | Within the stainless steel centre, the numeral 1 is prominently displayed against a stylised rendering of the Southern Cross constellation, drawn from the Brazilian national arms and symbolising the country's geographic position. The denomination legend and date are inscribed within the field. The surrounding bronze-plated steel ring features a plain annular border consistent with the bimetallic series. |

| Additional information |
Brazil's mint produced a sprawling series of circulating commemoratives for the Rio 2016 Games, covering sports, athletes, and official mascots — an unusually ambitious program for a country whose economy was contracting sharply under the Rousseff administration, which was itself in the final stages of an impeachment process when these coins entered circulation. The mascot depicted here, Vinicius, was named after the poet and songwriter Vinícius de Moraes and was designed by the São Paulo studio Birdo.
