Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Fernando VII facing right, rendered in the neoclassical style characteristic of early 19th-century Spanish colonial coinage. The king's hair is tied at the back with a ribbon, and the truncation of the bust is visible at the lower field. A toothed (beaded) border frames the design. The circular legend reads FERDIN•VII•DEI•GRATIA, with the date below the bust.
