Fernando II of Aragon held Navarre through conquest, not inheritance — the kingdom was seized by force in 1512, and its integration remained legally contested for decades. Coinage struck in his name for Navarre served an administrative function as much as a political one, normalizing Aragonese authority over a population that had not chosen it. The Cru#1316 type spans the entirety of his Navarrese tenure through to mid-century, suggesting dies or types were reused well past Fernando's death in 1516 under successive regents.
