Ferdinand II never formally styled himself King of Majorca in his titulature after 1479, when the island's crown merged administratively into the Crown of Aragon following the union with Castile. These reals, struck without his name, reflect a deliberate minting convention specific to the Majorcan workshop — not an error or omission, but a continuation of pre-union local practice that the Barcelona and Valencia mints had already abandoned by this date.
