Reverse description Two crowned hemispheres displayed between the Pillars of Hercules, each pillar surmounted by a crown and bearing partial scroll banners with the PLVS VLTRA legend. The date appears partially in the lower field or exergue, accompanied by the mint mark. The entire design is struck on an irregular cob planchet typical of Spanish colonial macuquina coinage, with the impression incomplete at the margins due to the nature of the hammered striking process.
