Obverse description Crowned quartered shield of Castile and León, displaying alternating castles and lions within their respective quarters, surrounded by an ornate decorative border. The shield is centrally positioned within the irregular cob flan, typical of hand-struck macuquina coinage. Partial mint and assayer marks appear to the left of the shield. The design reflects the standard heraldic style employed at the Santa Fe de Bogotá mint during the reign of Felipe V.
