| 表面の説明 | The crowned royal arms of Philip II of Spain, rendered in the cob (macuquina) hammered style. The quartered shield displays, in the upper dexter quarter the arms of Castile and León, in the upper sinister the combined arms of Aragon and the Two Sicilies. The lower portion of the shield incorporates the arms of Austria, Burgundy, Flanders, Tyrol, and Brabant, surmounted by a central escutcheon of the House of Austria. The shield is crowned with a royal crown, and the assayer's initial of Bernardo de Oñate appears to the right of the shield in the field. The encircling legend reads PHILIPPVS II DEI GRATIA. |

| 裏面の説明 | A plain Jerusalem cross (cross potent) divides the field into four quarters, each alternately charged with the castles of Castile and the lions of León, following the standard typology of the Colonial Spanish cob coinage. The design is struck on an irregular planchet characteristic of hammered macuquina production. The border carries the encircling legend HISPANIARVM ET INDIARVM REX. The overall design is bold though unevenly struck, consistent with the hand-hammered technique of the period. |
