| Obverse description | Crowned shield bearing the Cross of Jerusalem quartered with alternating lions passant and castles, struck on an irregularly shaped cob planchet characteristic of macuquina coinage. The quartered arms display the traditional Castile and León emblems in high relief, with the overall design off-center as typical of hand-struck cob coinage of the Potosí mint. A partial Latin legend referencing the monarch appears around the periphery, though full legibility is constrained by the irregular flan. The strike exhibits the bold, rough character inherent to the macuquina tradition, with portions of the design visible depending on planchet coverage. |
