| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned Royal Arms of Spain, a quartered shield bearing the castles of Castile and the lions of León in opposing quarters, with the fleurs-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in the base quarter, all surmounted by a royal crown. The assayer initial 'JV' appears to the left of the shield and the denomination '1R' to the right. A circular Latin legend runs along the entire periphery, separated from the central device by a plain inner ring, with the inscription interrupted at the top by the royal crown. |
