1 Real - Agustín I

Agustín de Iturbide declared himself Emperor of Mexico in July 1822, and the Mexico City mint — operating continuously since 1535 — shifted almost immediately to produce coinage in his name. The 1 Real of that year is among the first issues of an independent Mexican empire that would collapse within months; Iturbide abdicated under military pressure in March 1823 and was exiled, then executed upon his return in 1824.

The reign lasted just over a year, which sharply constrains total output across all denominations. KM#302 survivors in any grade above heavily circulated are genuinely uncommon.
