Obverse lettering NUEVA GRANADA 1853
Reverse description A central denomination inscription UN REAL is enclosed within a wreath, with the fineness LEI 0,900 displayed at the base of the design. A caduceus appears to each side of the wreath, serving as decorative and symbolic flanking devices. The mint name BOGOTA is inscribed along the upper periphery as the primary legend. The overall arrangement is balanced and typical of mid-19th century Colombian coinage.
