Obverse description The Lucerne cantonal coat of arms, depicting a diagonally divided shield in the Gothic style, occupies the central field, flanked by a palm branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right. The overall composition is formal and heraldic, consistent with Swiss cantonal coinage of the late 18th century. The field surrounding the shield is plain, with the milled border forming a decorative outer edge.
