| Obverse description | Plain shield of Schwyz — a blank escutcheon with concave sides in the characteristic Swiss style — displayed centrally within a raised inner circle. The shield occupies the majority of the central field and is rendered in low relief. The entire design is enclosed by a prominent outer border of large raised pellets or beads, forming a complete ring around the circumference. No legend is present; the design is entirely heraldic and geometric in character, consistent with the minimalist aesthetic of small Swiss cantonal hammered billon coinage of the late seventeenth century. |
