Obverse description Bracteate type featuring the head of an eagle facing left, rendered in a stylized late medieval manner with flowing, curvilinear feather detailing. The design is struck in high relief within a plain inner ring, itself enclosed by a beaded outer border following the irregular flan edge. The eagle's head, a heraldic symbol of the city of Freiburg, is depicted with an open beak and prominent eye, the neck feathers rendered as elongated, sinuous strands. No legend or inscription is present in the field.
