Aanvullende informatie

South Africa's hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup was the first time the tournament had been held on the African continent — a bid that had been contested bitterly after South Africa lost the 2006 hosting rights to Germany by a single vote in 2000. The mint capitalised on the occasion with a bullion-adjacent commemorative series, of which this tenth-ounce piece is the smallest denomination.

The KM#508 reference places it firmly within the broader commemorative rand coinage family rather than the Natura or Protea series.
