| Obverse description | A bold, plain cross with decorated arms occupies the central field, contained within a linear circle. The arms of the cross feature small crenellated or notched detailing along their ends, typical of Venetian billon coinage of the period. The surrounding legend, interrupted by a cross pattée and pellets as punctuation, reads PA MARIPETRO DVX, identifying the reigning Doge Pasquale Malipiero. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, consistent with hammered production of the mid-fifteenth century. |
