Reverse description Bust of Saint Ubaldo, patron saint of Gubbio and protector of the Duchy of Urbino, depicted in episcopal vestments facing forward or in three-quarter view. The figure occupies the central field of the flan, rendered in the simplified, high-relief style typical of hammered small-denomination coinage. A partial Latin legend in Roman capitals surrounds the bust, identifying the saint. The die work reflects the modest artistic conventions of early sixteenth-century Italian feudal mint production.
