| Reverse description | Central device consisting of a ducal crown above the abbreviated legend MLNI / DVX, referring to Philip V's title as Duke of Milan (Mediolani Dux). The inscription is arranged in two lines within the field. The whole is encircled by a border of elongated ovals or pellets, a decorative device commonly found on Milanese quattrini of this era. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hammered copper coinage of the early eighteenth century. |
