Obverse description The Albani family arms of Pope Clement XI, depicted as an ornate escutcheon surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter, all set within an elaborate foliate and scroll surround. A six-pointed star appears in the upper portion of the shield. The circular Latin legend reads CLEMEN٠XI٠ PON٠M٠A٠VII, referencing the pontiff's name and regnal year. The coin's border is decorated with a beaded inner rim. The whole composition is characteristic of early eighteenth-century Roman ecclesiastical engraving.
