Reverse description Within a circular Latin legend, the field presents an anchored cross — a cross whose arms terminate in anchor-like feet — as the central device, a common Sienese type. An engraver's mark comprising a cruciform globe and the letter P is incorporated into the legend area. The peripheral inscription reads: ✠ ALFA ✿ EDO, an abbreviated rendering of Alpha and Omega, alluding to divine authority.
