Reverse description A Mauritian (or Savoyard) cross with splayed arms, set within a double quatrefoil frame formed by four lobed arcs. Small pellets are placed in each of the four angles between the cross arms, adding decorative detail to the field. The cross is boldly struck at center, dominating the composition. The overall design is characteristic of the feudal coinage of Piedmont under Savoyard influence in the late sixteenth century. No legend or inscription is present on the reverse.
