| 正面描述 | The armorial shield of Cardinal Antonio Barberini occupies the center of the field, bearing the distinctive Barberini family device of three bees arranged in two rows, supported on either side by elaborate decorative mantling. Above the shield, the crossed Keys of Saint Peter are depicted beneath the papal umbraculum (baldachin), all rendered in fine relief. The circular legend, in Roman capitals, reads SEDE VACANTE MDCLV, denoting the Interregnum of 1655, and is separated from the inner devices by a continuous beaded border. The overall composition is characteristic of the Roman hammered gold coinage of the seventeenth century, with bold, deeply engraved heraldic elements filling the field. |
