| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays dense Arabic calligraphic inscriptions filling the field, comprising the royal titles and name of Abd al-Aziz. A prominent oval countermark bearing the Arabic numeral '٦٥' (65) is applied at center, punched into the host coin's surface. The legends are arranged in multiple lines with foliated script, and a fine beaded border encircles the design. |

The countermark '65' on this piece refers to the Hijri year 1365 (1946 CE), applied to existing coin stock as part of a controlled revalidation practice used in the Arabian Peninsula when new issues were delayed or supply was short. By 1946, the kingdom had long since been unified as Saudi Arabia, yet older Hejaz and Nejd coinage continued circulating — the countermark served as official authorization to keep it in commerce rather than withdraw it.
