Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic legend in Nasta'liq script denoting the mint name and issuing authority, reading 'ضرب دارالعلم شیراز' (Struck at Dar al-Ilm, Shiraz). The inscription is boldly rendered across the face of the flan in two or three lines, with characteristic Qajar calligraphic flourishes. A partial beaded border frames the design at the periphery, though irregular striking has left portions of the border incomplete. The overall style is consistent with provincial hammered silver coinage produced at the Shiraz mint during the reign of Naser al-Din Shah.
