Obverse description Central field occupied by a large cartouche bearing the royal epithet in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy, flanked by floral and foliate arabesque ornaments filling the surrounding field. The inscription is rendered in raised relief against a stippled or granulated background, framed by a beaded inner border and a plain outer rim. Decorative rosette or pellet clusters appear in the upper and lower portions of the field, characteristic of the Qajar Type D die style. The overall composition is dense and calligraphic, typical of mid-19th-century Iranian provincial coinage.
