The legend reads 'Zarb Dar al-Aman Kerman 1241' (Struck at the Abode of Security, Kerman, year 1241 AH), with the regnal year rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals along the lower margin. The surrounding border is composed of a continuous ring of pellets, a hallmark of Qajar provincial hammered issues. Floral ornaments punctuate the field between the calligraphic elements, consistent with the decorative vocabulary of the Kerman mint during the reign of Fath Ali Shah.
