Reverse description Stylized and highly abstracted figure of Goddess Kali rendered in the local Cochin artistic tradition, with schematic limbs and body elements suggested by curved and linear strokes in the field. A conch shell (shankha), sacred symbol of Vishnu and of the Travancore-Cochin region, is depicted within the figure. The design reflects the indigenous south Indian artistic conventions adapted for small silver coinage of the period.
