Obverse description Arabic legend reading 'fulus naw' (new coin) accompanied by the AH date, all contained within an ornamental square cartouche formed by double incuse border lines. The inscription is executed in raised relief in a characteristic Central Asian hammered style, with the field showing the rough, granular surface typical of Khoqand copper coinage of this period.
