Aanvullende informatie

Prešov, one of Slovakia's oldest free royal cities, received its municipal charter in 1374. The dukát series issued under the city's authority revives a tradition of civic gold coinage that predates the modern Slovak state by centuries — Prešov was an important commercial hub in Upper Hungary, and local merchant guilds historically used ducat-denominated accounting long after Habsburg centralization diminished municipal minting rights.

These pieces were struck across a five-year window as collector issues, not circulating currency, produced under license from the Slovak Mint.
