| 备注 |
The African Banking Corporation was a British-registered commercial bank operating across southern Africa, and its Pretoria branch notes were issued during a period of acute monetary disruption — the Anglo-Boer War (1899–1902) left the Transvaal's banking infrastructure in pieces, with the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek's own note issues collapsing alongside the republic itself. Private bank notes from ABC filled part of that vacuum in the immediate post-war years before the Union of South Africa's currency arrangements stabilized.
Bradbury Wilkinson printed for numerous colonial and private banks across this period, and their work for ABC followed that pattern. The broad date range of 1900–1919 suggests the plates saw extended use across at least two distinct political arrangements — British Crown Colony and then Union province.
