The denomination ONE POUND appears in the lower left, and a manuscript signature of an authorised signatory is placed to the lower right. The note bears a handwritten serial number and date, identifying it as issued at Sarum on 4 April 1808 for the partnership of Bowles, Ogden and Wyndham. |
