| 备注 |
The Currency Commission consolidated note series — of which this is part — arose from the 1927 Currency Act, which required all note-issuing banks in the Irish Free State to pool their circulation through a central regulatory body. The result was a peculiar hybrid: notes carrying individual bank names and branding, yet technically issued and guaranteed by the Commission. Provincial Bank of Ireland, a Belfast-headquartered institution with deep roots in British banking, found itself printing Irish Free State legal tender under this arrangement.
Three signature combinations across eleven years reflect the Commission's successive secretaries paired with a constant: Joseph Brennan, Currency Commissioner throughout, signed every date in this series.
