正面描述 Central vignette at top centre shows two allegorical figures — Britannia and Hibernia — seated together within an ornate frame, with the bank title running across the top in bold letterpress. Denomination numerals "ONE" appear in large panels at left and right. The central field carries a handwritten promise-to-pay text with manuscript date, flanked by serial numbers, above a dense typeset list of the bank's branch locations arranged in multiple lines across the note.

背面描述 Reverse is blank, left entirely unprinted on plain paper stock, as was characteristic of many Irish provincial commercial banknotes of the early twentieth century.

备注

The Provincial Bank of Ireland was a London-chartered institution — founded by act of Parliament in 1825 — that operated a network of provincial branches specifically designed to reach areas underserved by the Bank of Ireland. That structural rivalry shaped the bank's entire commercial identity. Notes circulated through rural Ulster, Munster, and Connacht in volumes that Belfast or Dublin banks rarely matched at the branch level.

The 1903–1918 date range straddles a turbulent stretch: the Home Rule crisis, the outbreak of the Great War, and the Easter Rising of 1916. Notes from the later end of this span would have circulated under genuine political uncertainty about what Irish banking regulation might look like within a decade.

Pick 337 is notoriously difficult to date precisely from physical examination alone, as branch cashier signatures vary considerably across the run.
