Issued to commemorate Egyptian military production — the state-run network of factories under the Ministry of Military Production that manufactures everything from weapons systems to consumer appliances. The ministry's industrial arm dates to the 1950s and expanded aggressively under Nasser as part of his broader industrialization drive, with facilities eventually producing vehicles, electronics, and chemicals alongside defense materiel.
KM#934 is one of several Egyptian commemorative pounds in .720 silver from this period, a series that drew little international collector attention and circulated primarily within domestic channels.
