Pick 50 runs across three date printings, all signed by Christodoulos Christodoulou during his tenure as Governor — a span that coincides with Cyprus's gradual economic recovery following the disruptions of the 1974 Turkish invasion and the effective partition of the island. The Cyprus Pound remained pegged informally to sterling through much of this period before shifting to a basket peg, and the note's design was kept stable partly to maintain public confidence in the currency during that transition.

De La Rue's security thread on this series is an early example of their embedded rather than surface-applied thread, which became a target for forgers on earlier Cypriot issues.
