A rectangular vignette at the left centre depicts a harbour scene with sailing vessels and a shield bearing three lions passant, consistent with the arms of Jersey. The text reads 'Promise to pay the Bearer on Demand ONE POUND Value rec'd, Jersey the 1st day of April 1814', with the issuer's title 'Jersey Bank' in large calligraphic script across the upper portion and 'One Pound' in bold script at the lower left.
