Obverse description Plain paper note printed in black ink throughout, executed in an elaborate copperplate engraving style. The upper portion bears the issuing institution's name "Jersey Bank" in ornate calligraphic script within a decorative cartouche, flanked on each side by the serial number in rectangular panels. The promise to pay legend in flowing script occupies the central field, with the denomination "One Pound" enclosed in a scrollwork vignette; to the lower left, a letterpress counter bearing the word "One" is engraved by Hamon, alongside the manuscript date "Jersey the 4th day of April 1815," the payable-at clause naming W. Math. Gallichan & Co., and the manuscript signature of George Syvret with a wax seal.
