| 备注 |
The Isle of Man Bank was established in 1828, and this note dates from its very first year of active operation. Perkins, Bacon & Petch were at the leading edge of security printing at the time — Jacob Perkins had patented his siderography process in 1819, allowing engraved steel designs to be transferred between plates without loss of detail, a genuine innovation in anti-counterfeiting that made the firm the first choice for banks anxious about forgery.
John Wulff served as the bank's first manager. The institution would later be absorbed into what became Royal Bank of Scotland Group, but in 1829 it was a young local concern operating in a jurisdiction with its own monetary customs distinct from mainland Britain.
